Blackboard's home page has a new look. After you log into Blackboard, you will notice that Blackboard's home page looks different. All tabs containing your course overview are gone and a new streamlined menu called Ultra Base Navigation appears on the left side of the screen. General Saxion Blackboard announcements are now on the Institution page, the new home page.

In the following overview, we explain how to use the new interface and where the functionality is located.

1. Institution page - This is the main source of information and replaces the tabs at the top of Blackboard.
2. Profile - You can customize your profile, add a photo and change settings, such as notification preferences.
3. Activity Stream - View real-time updates on activities for all your courses.
4. Courses - Navigate to previous, current and future courses. You can switch between a list and tile view. Click on the course name to open it. This page replaces the home page as you were used to within Blackboard.
5. Organisations - Navigate to previous, current and future organizations
6. Calendar - View course events and due dates.
7. Messages - View and send messages in all courses.
8. Grades - View what should be graded for all your courses.
9. Tools - Access general functions beyond your courses such as the portfolio tool. 
10. Logout - Log out of Blackboard.
