Problem
When uploading media to Kaltura, the upload may fail if the Chrome extension Privacy Badger is active. Privacy Badger can block parts of Kaltura that are needed to upload media. Because of this, the upload may fail even if the file itself is correct. This can happen when using Kaltura via:
- Media.saxion.nl
- the Kaltura integration in Brightspace
For example: when uploading via My Media or Insert Stuff you may see a red error message such as:
Upload failed for: "name media" This means the file was not uploaded.
Solution: disable Privacy Badger for Kaltura
You do not need to remove Privacy Badger completely. You only need to disable it for the website where you are using Kaltura.
- Go to Media.saxion.nl or Kaltura in Brightspace (in My Media or the Kaltura upload window)
- Click the Privacy Badger icon in Chrome.
- Click Disable on this site.
- Refresh the page.
- Try uploading the file again.
