How do I check and edit the minor programme?

This guide is intended for the Minor Coordinator and describes:

  • How to check the minor overview
  • How to remove inactive minors
  • How to create a new minor

It is part of the Annual Minor Programme Workflow.

1. Checking the Minor overview by the minor coordinator

Go to ACADEMIES, select your academy, and choose Study variants

1. Click on Minor to see the list of minors

2. Check whether the correct minors and their corresponding Offering periodes are displayed.

Return to the dashboard to remove inactive minors  

3. click on Minor aanbod beheren manage Minor Offerings for the relevant task. The following workflow will appear..

2. Workflow removing inactive minors

A workflow opens, showing the steps or activities that must be completed to carry out a specific process from start to finish. This workflow consists of several pages that you navigate through step by step. Each page contains specific parts of the minor that may need adjustment.

1. Algemene informatie Minor RO General Minor Information: This page shows the general details of the minor.
  Note: These details cannot be changed.

2. Minor einddatum Minor End Date: Here you can set an end date.

  • If you set an end date before the end of the academic year, the minor will not be copied to the educational offerings for the next academic year.
  • Use this only if you are certain the minor will no longer be offered.
  • You can also remove the offering period. The minor will no longer be offered, but will remain visible in the following academic year.

3. Aanbodperiode minor Minor Offering Period: Add each period during which the minor is available. When you click Add, a new screen opens where you enter the details, including the maximum number of students per offering.

4. Minor betrokkenen minor stakeholders: Finally, add the contact person for the minor. Later in the process, this person can manage the minor.

5. Afronden completion: Every workflow ends with the Complete page, which finalizes the workflow

3. Creating a new minor

You create a new minor to make it available in the educational offerings of your academy. Go to ACADEMIES, select your academy, choose Study Variants and click the plus icon (Add) under the Minor section. The following workflow will open. Each page contains specific elements of the minor that must be completed.

1. Algemene informatie Minor General Minor Information

  • Code: Automatically generated.
  • Name (NL): Official Dutch name of the minor.
  • Name (EN): Official English name of the minor.
  • Short Name (NL): Name used in student communications (Dutch).
  • Short Name (EN): Name used in student communications (English).
  • Credits (EC): Number of European Credits.
  • Partner Academy or External Party: Free text field for partners.
  • Minor Type: This field is being phased out, but fill it in for now.
  • Minor Theme: Select one of the predefined themes.
  • Customisable Minor: Indicate whether this is a customisable minor.
  • Propedeuse Achieved: Select whether completion of the propedeuse is a prerequisite.
  • Location: Choose one location per minor.
    Note: For multiple locations, create separate minors.
  • Primary Language of Instruction: Select the teaching language of the minor.
  • Offering Format: Choose the correct format for the offering.
  • Academy: Select the responsible academy.
  • Minor Start Date: Enter the start date of the minor.
  1. Aanbodperiode minor minor offering period: Add each period during which the minor is available. (See step 3 in Removing Inactive Minors.)
  2. Minor betrokkenen minor stakeholders: Add the contact person for the minor. Later in the process, this person can manage the minor.
  3. Afronden completion: After entering this information, the framework of the minor is created. Note that the content details will be added later by the minor responsible role.
