1. Click at Controleren Examenprogramma on the examination programme that is ready for you.
Workflow checking the examination programme
A workflow will open. This consists of the steps or activities that must be completed in order to complete a specific process from start to finish. The workflow consists of several pages that logically follow one another. Each page contains information from the examination programme that is required for overview and checking.
Below, each page explains what you can expect and what you, as a curriculum responsible, should pay attention to. Chapter 3 discusses the various reports in more detail.
1. Introductie (introduction)
Here you will find a brief explanation of the process. Click on the dot for more information.
Click on one of the dots to view more information about the process. You will also see which role comes after you and which screens this person will see.
2. Onderwijsaanbod gegevens (educational offering data)
This is an overview page of all data of the educational offering. This information cannot be changed. If this data needs to be changed, this means that a new programme variant must be created.
NB: If incorrect data is shown, create a TOPdesk-ticket.
3. Reports - general
Reports are intended to present information in a clear overview. By default, a compact overview is shown, but you can also choose another template with more detailed information. In addition, you can compile and save your own selection, so that you always have quick access to the data relevant to you.
Reports can be downloaded to Excel. Many reports also allow you to make changes to the data directly from within the report.
If too many columns are selected, data may not fit within the screen in TimeEdit. When downloading to Excel, all columns are included
Below we first explain the general operation of reports, after which we explain which options are available for each report.
1. Click Download to download the report as an Excel or CSV file.
The grey circle shows how many items are selected. In some reports, all items are selected by default; in other reports, the selection starts at 0 and you can choose which items to include. By turning on the top slider, you select everything, but you can also manually create your own selection.
2. Use the Zoeken (search) function to display search bars above the various columns. You can now search by column.
3. Here you can choose which template to use. The default is "01 compact." Choose a different public template or your own template.
4. If you want to create your own report, you can toggle columns on and off and change their order from the desired template. This way, you can compile your own information. You can save this template for your own use.
3.1. Cursusrapport (course report)
In Cursus rapport (course report) you will see an overview of all courses within the programme variant. Below an example of what a course report looks like:
1. Code: In the first column, you'll see the course code. This can be a code derived from the test code from Bison for an existing course or test. If anything has changed in the course, a new course has been created at an earlier stage with a new code. These codes begin with C00…. Check these courses extra carefully.
2. Naam (name): This is the name of the course in question and cannot be changed. A new course name will result in a new course, which you can create later in the process with the exam program. If the name of a newly created course needs to be changed, please submit a TOPdesk ticket.
3. Aangeboden periodes (offered periods): This column shows all periods in which the course is offered, even if it's offered in multiple program options or at different locations. Check that the offer for your program option is correct and adjust it if necessary.
4. Studiepunten (study points): This overview shows the number of credits per course. While no changes can be made at this stage, it's important to verify that the information is correct.
5. Cursusverantwoordelijke (course coordinator): This is the colleague responsible for completing and editing the course. For questions about the content, please contact this person. If the wrong course coordinato is listed, this can be adjusted.
Note: that this colleague will not receive the task again automatically. Any necessary adjustments can be made by you, the curriculum owner.
If you want to make one or more changes to a course, click on that course. The following workflow will open:
Changes may overwrite work done by the course coordinator. Always consult first.
3.1.1. Algemene gegevens cursus (general course data)
This page is for informational purposes only. As the curriculum responsible, you cannot make any changes here.
3.1.2. Aanbodperiodes (offering periods)
The course offering periods have been previously determined by the programme manager. If the information is incorrect, you can adjust it. Select a course offering period. Each course offering period you define will be considered the start date for the course.
What can you change here?
- Move a course from term 1 to term 2.
- Offer the course at multiple locations, for example, not only in Deventer but also in Enschede.
Example:
- If you select quartile 1, the course starts and ends in quartile 1. This applies primarily to the lessons; retakes can be scheduled in a later quartile.
- If the course runs over two quartiles, select quartiles 1 + 2 instead of quartiles 1 and 2. This indicates that the course starts in quartile 1 and runs throughout the semester.
- If you select quartiles 1 and 2 separately, you create two different start dates. This is only necessary if the course starts multiple times a year.
Create a separate line for each combination of quartile and location (e.g. Quartile 1 Deventer, Quartile 1 Enschede).
You are viewing a course offering that may be available in multiple programme variants. For example, a course might be offered in Deventer during period 1 and in Enschede during period 2. Keep this in mind when adjusting your offering.
3.1.3. Betrokkenen (involved persons)
On this page, you can edit the course participants. Edit the course coordinator by removing the old one and adding a new one. You can also enter lecturers and examiners here. Lecturers will receive access to the course in Osiris later. Examiners are also authorized to assess the course.
Lecturers and examiners can also be added at a later date, so you can leave these fields blank for now if you don't know yet.
3.1.4. Omschrijvingen Cursus (course description)
As the curriculum responsible, you cannot make any changes on this page; this responsibility lies with the course coordinator. If the information is incorrect or incomplete, it can be updated starting the next academic year. You can also open the course's ad hoc process, so the course coordinator receives the task again on their dashboard.
3.1.5. Werkvormen (teaching methods)
This is an important part of the workflow. The course coordinator has determined which teaching methods are offered within the course. You, as the curriculum responsible, can make changes by clicking the pencil icon or adding a new one. You can add or edit teaching methods
- Click on +Toevoegen (add), the following screen will appear. Here you have two options:
- Kopieer (copy): make a copy of the existing teaching method, or
- Nieuwe aanmaken (create new): fill in everything again.
Enter all required information. Items marked with a asterisk are required.
1. Code: auto generated
2. Werkvorm type (teaching method type): Choose one of the teaching methods from the list (e,g., lecture, seminar, practical)
3. Osiris werkvormcode (Osiris teachning method): This field is required for the Osiris integration. For a smooth integration, it's crucial that it's filled in correctly. Choose a unique teaching method code for each teaching method within the course. Provide a separate code for each teaching method you add. Start with teaching method 1, then teaching method 2, and so on
4. Max groepsgrootte (maximum group size): What is the maximum group size for the student group? For example, 32, 24, or 8. This is set to 32 by default, but can be adjusted based on the numbers from a predefined list. Enter this carefully, as it will be used later to calculate the number of groups.
Add all teaching methods needed for timetabling. If the same method has different group sizes, create it twice.
3.1.6. Toetsschema (test schedule)
The course's test format has been determined previously by the programme manager. If a new test format is required, a new course must be created—this can be done on the page examination programme.
As the curriculum responsible, you can adjust several aspects of the assessment by clicking the pen icon.
The following workflow will open:
1. Under Toetsgegevens RO (RO Test Data), you'll find the various characteristics of this test, such as the number of credits, weighting, grading method, and cut-off point. As the curriculum responsble, you cannot make any changes here; this could have been done earlier by the programme manager. Changes to the test data often require the creation of a new course.
2. Under Aanpasbare toets gegevens 2026 (Adjustable Test Data 2026), some details about the test for this academic year can be changed.
3. Under Extra toetstinformatie (Additional Test Information), additional information about a test can be recorded, such as the test criteria, resources, and requirements.
Each course has a test; existing test formats cannot be changed. Test activities are listed under tests. The course coordinator has recorded these, but changes can still be made.
1. Click the arrow next to the test to see underlying test activities.
2. Clikk +Toevoegen (add), when you want to add a new activity.
3. Click the pencil icon to edit a test activity.
The following screen opens when you add a new test activity.
1. Soort (type): he activity type is the same as the test format. If a test is determined to be an assessment, the underlying activities are also assessments.
2. Code: This is generated.
3. Verwacht aantal deelnemers (expected number of participants): Enter the expected number of participants for the test.
4. Optionally, enter a Opmerking (comment) for the planner/scheduler.
5. Enter the Toetsgelegendheid (test occasion) Is this activity the first or second opportunity?
6. Week in aanbodperiode (week in the offered period): If the course is determined to take place in period 4, you can indicate here which scheduled week of period 4 the test activity should be scheduled in. You can also indicate multiple weeks if the test activity does not have to take place in a fixed week, for example, 4.4 through 4.7. The scheduler can then determine which week the activity is scheduled in.
7. It is also possible to schedule a test activity outside the offered period; for example, the course runs in period 4, but the test activity takes place in period 5. It is not possible to schedule a test before the offered period. In that case, the offered period will have to be changed.
The test opportunity is a required field and is essential for the connection to Osiris. Therefore, always ensure that a test opportunity is recorded with your test activities.
The following screen opens when you edit a test activity. Here you can edit an existing test activity for the next academic year.
1. Code: This will be generated.
2. Toetstype (test type): This cannot be changed.
3. Verwacht aantal deelnemers (expected number of participants): Enter the expected number of participants for the test here.
4. enter a Opmerking (comment) for the planner/scheduler.
5. Enter the Toetsgelegenheid (test opportunity) Indicate whether this activity is the first, second, or a later opportunity.
Note: This field must be unique within each offering period to ensure a correct connection with Osiris.
Example: Period 1 – Enschede has two test activities:
- First opportunity in schedule week 1.6
- Second opportunity in schedule week 1.9
Complete this for all offered periods and associated test activities. Two first opportunities cannot occur within a single period.
6. Week in aanbodperiode (week in the offered period): If the course is scheduled to take place in period 4, you can indicate here which week of period 4 the test activity should be scheduled in.
It is not possible to schedule a test for the offered period. In that case, the offered period will have to be changed.
The test opportunity is a required field and is essential for the connection to Osiris. Therefore, always ensure that a test opportunity is recorded with your test activities.
3.2. Werkvormrapport (teaching method report)
This is an overview of all teaching methods per course. Check that all teaching methods are present and that the Osiris teaching method code is correct. This field is required for the Osiris integration; for this integration to work properly, it is crucial that it is filled in correctly. Select a unique teaching method code for each teaching method code within the course. Each teaching method must have an unique Osiris code. Start with teaching method 1, then teaching method 2, and so on.

4. Wijzigingen (changes)
This page shows the changes made to the structure of the exam programme and to the course itself. This overview can help you better understand what changes were made in earlier steps of the process. Reading this page isn't always easy; you don't need to do anything here, but it can provide valuable insights.
Below you will find an example of a change page:
0. Programme Variant Changes: Sometimes minor changes occur at the programme variant level. These are displayed here. In most cases, however, such changes are rare, as they often lead to the creation of a completely new programme variant. When this happens, this overview shows which information was entered and by whom.
1. Onderdeel-wijzigingen (Component Changes): Changes may have been made to a component of the programme variant. For example, the number of credits may have been adjusted (for example, a cluster increased from 60 to 30 credits). The component type may also have been changed, such as from compulsory to elective courses. Other types of changes are also possible.
2. Cursus-wijzigingen (Course Changes): The course coordinator may have made changes to existing or newly created courses. Click on a course to view the changes made.
Click on a change to view the details. This overview is for illustrative purposes only. Any changes can be reversed from the course report or the examination programme.
5. Examenprogramma controleren en aanpassen (checking and adjusting examination programme)
This page shows the structure of the examination programme. Please carefully check that it matches the agreements made. Move, delete, or create new courses as needed.
The examination programme must be correctly structured, otherwise the Osiris link will not work.
You can create new courses from the examniation programme. For more information about creating a course, please consult the following manual: How do I create a new course? This also explains when you need to create a new course.
6. Examencommissie advies (examination committee advice)
