You can upload all kinds of products to your register. Examples of products include: a sketch, a drawing, a reflection or evaluation, a collage, a model, a piece of work, a poster, a customer or stakeholder interview, a prepared presentation, or a report.
This article explains how to do this.
You can also edit an uploaded product. A new version of your product will then be created automatically. You and your teacher can also look back at previous versions of a product. Click here to read how to edit a product.

Upload a product into you register
To upload a product, follow these steps:
- In the Brightspace course environment for your module, click on eJournal in the green navigation bar and click on the register where you want to upload product.
- On the left-hand side, click on the blue + to add new content.
- Select 'Product (pas de titel aan)' (this is the one you'll use most) or click on 'Product technisch tekenwerk of product met video' if applicable.

Use the Verbal feedback option if you are recording feedback you have received during a coaching session.

Once you click on Use Entry Template, you will see a form that you can fill in as follows:
- First, click on Edit categories.
- Then click on Select category to indicate the following three things:
- for which learning pathway (or learning pathways; in Dutch 'leerlijn') you are uploading this product. You DON'T need to select a level!
- for which project
- for which phase of the project: design analysis (oa), preliminary design (so), provisional design (vo), final design (do).
- The selection window closes once you selected a category. Repeat from step 4 until you selected the learning pathway(s), project and phase that are applicable.
If you selected a wrong category, just click on the three dots behind it and then click on Remove.
- Click Save to save the selected categories for your product.
- Enter the title of your product.
- In the text box, provide an explanation of your product and add images. Do this as follows:
Add an image
You can add an image directly in the text field. To do this, follow these steps:
- In the editor, click where you want to place the image.
- Click Insert/edit image. A new window will appear.
- Click Upload.
- Drag the image file to this area, or click Browse for an image to select the file.
Make sure your image is at least 900px wide (the full width in eJournal), otherwise it may not always be clearly legible to the lecturer.
Please note! If you manually enlarge the image in eJournal, the image will be ‘stretched’ and will become less legible. So make sure the image is already at least 900px wide to begin with. - Click Save to insert the image.
If your product includes technical drawings or a video, you will have selected the other form at the top in step 3, and you will now see fields for uploading the file containing the drawings or video. Do this as follows:
Add a file
To add technical drawings, click Add file in the ‘Upload your technical drawings as PDFs’ field, then click Upload from my computer.
Then select the file you want to add.
Want to add another file? Repeat this step.
If your product is a video, you should add it to your register as follows:
Add a video
- At Saxion, you never submit a video as a file; you always use Saxion's Kaltura video platform for this. First, follow these instructions: How do I add a video to Kaltura?
Do this in a new tab in your browser so that the tab with your product upload, remains open.
- On media.saxion.nl click on the profile icon.
- Click on My Media to see the list of videos you uploaded.
- Click on the title of the video in MyMedia that you want to submit in eJournal.
- Click on Share below the video.
- Click on Embed.
- Click the ‘Copy embed’ button at the bottom right of the video.
- In your browser, go back to the tab where you are uploading your product.
- Paste (Ctrl V) the copied code into the video field.
You will only see the video after you click Submit to save the registration.
Submit the product
- Once you have added all the components for this product, click Submit at the bottom. If you forgot to select categories at the top of the form, you will be asked to do so. Make sure you select a category for the project, the design phase and at least one learning pathway.
Edit a product (saving a new version)
If you edit a product after you have submitted it, you will need to upload a new version of it. To do this:
- Click on the three dots next to the name of the product.
- Click on Edit and make the desired changes.
Next to the three dots, you will now see a button showing the latest version selected. By clicking on it, you can also view previous versions.
If you need to replace an uploaded technical drawing, click on the three dots behind the file and click Remove. You will only remove the existing file in the new version. In the old version, it will remain.
You and your teacher can continue to view the previous version(s).
- Click on Submit to save the modified product in your register.
