Saxion's media content is stored on the video platform Kaltura at a server location in the USA. To comply with the GDPR legislation, we are moving the current data to a server in Europe. The migration of the data is largely automatic. However, there are some things that are important for owners of media on Saxion's video platform to know and do. One of them is to replace the iframe embed code.

Have you placed videos on other sites via an iframe embed code? Then adjust them after the data migration. This can be done from Monday August 18. Make sure you do this no later than Monday, November 1, 2025, otherwise the videos will no longer work.

What is a iframe embedcode? 
An iframe embed code is a piece of HTML code that allows you to display a video from Kaltura on another website. Instead of uploading the video itself, the website “borrows” the video through a window (iframe) that embeds the video. This keeps the video on the original server, but allows you to play it directly on your site.

Starting Aug. 18, a banner will appear in videos posted via an iframe embed code. This banner contains a notification that the media file must be replaced with a new iframe embed code. Example of the banner:

1. Go to the relevant media file on https://media.saxion.nl
2. Click “Share” at the bottom right of the media image

3. Next, click on the "</>" Embed-icon.

1. Choose the desired dimensions under "Max embed size"
2. "Copy embed" (copy) the new iframe-embedcode.
3. Replace the old iframe embed code on the relevant website
