Why a migration?
Saxion's media content is stored on the video platform Kaltura at a server location in the USA. To comply with the GDPR legislation, we are moving the current data to a server in Europe. The migration of the data is largely automatic. However, there are some things that are important for owners of media on Saxion's video platform to know and do.
Date of upload and number of plays will temporarily be incorrect
When you have uploaded videos to Kaltura, you will always be able to see:
- The date of upload, and;
- How many times the video has been played ('plays')
However, immediately after migration, this data will temporarily be incorrect. The displayed date of upload will be the date on which the video was migrated. The number of plays will temporarily start at 0 again.
No action is required here. Both pieces of information will be automatically updated around August to reflect the correct date of upload and number of plays.
