Brightspace's default settings include a 12 hour clock. The time in the morning is then indicated with AM and the time in the afternoon with PM. This could cause confusion when submitting assignments. When the assignment deadline is 12:00 noon, this is represented bij 12:00 PM, which is often mistaken as indicating midnight (however, midnight is correctly indicated as 12:00 AM).
It could happen that you think you have to hand in an assignment by midnight, when in fact you should have handed it in at noon. To avoid misunderstandings, it is worth considering changing your default settings to a 24 hour clock.
- Click your name at the top right of the screen and choose Account Settings.
2. Scroll down until you see the Clock heading. You will see that the default detting (12 Hour AM/PM) is set here.
3. Choose for the option 24 Hour
4. Click Save and Close
Midnight is now indicated as below.
