In Brightspace there are various functionalities you can use to control what students can see and when. Below you will find an overview of the possibilities per use case.
Note that when setting the dates, the release conditions of the content items will appear in the calendar. It is not possible to hide this.
Use cases based on time

Use cases based on enrollment
Enrollment-based use cases are set up with Release Conditions. See this article for more information on Release Conditions.
In case you want to make a content item or tool available in Brightspace to a limited extent based on a student's enrollment in a group or section, select Group Enrollment OR Section Enrollment. The Release Condition you need to set is the same for all tools and is listed below.

Use cases based on time and enrollment
A combination of time- and enrollment-based use cases are set up through Special Access. Please note that Special Access can only be used for Assignments, Quizzes and Discussion Boards.
To use a combination of time and subscription restrictions on content items, you must add a release condition and set the time via Manage Dates.
Use cases based on grades/scores
This paragraph is still being developed.
- Send an Announcement to students with a specific quiz score.
- Make course content available only to certain students based on the grade they received.
- Make a resit assignment available only to students who failed the first attempt.
