Started and Submitted
When a student has submitted an assignment, it will appear in the submission log as Submitted. The document can then be viewed and assessed under the 'Submissions' heading under Assignments.
Submitted: The student has successfully submitted a file. In this case, you should see the student's file in the Submissions (unless it has been deleted).
Another status that can be seen in the submission log is: Started.
Started:The student attempted to submit a file. However, the file transfer did NOT go through (for whatever reason, e.g. a network error or the student accidentally closed the window).
Started will therefore also appear if a student has uploaded a file and then clicked cancel or clicked away from the page. Unfortunately, the file that the student tried to upload cannot be retrieved.
Please note: the Started status does not necessarily indicate the validity of a submission for a particular assignment.
Usually the 'event' started doesn't give you any information other than the 'event' submitted. When a file upload is successful, the started and submitted events have exactly the same date and time.
