It is possible to copy SCORM packages to another course. If you copy an entire course that contains a SCORM package, you should pay attention to how Brightspace takes over the grade item. The grade item of the SCORM package automatically generated by Brightspace is not correctly copied into the target course, so that two grade items are created in the target course:
- One grade item with the correct Grade Scheme settings.
- One grade item with the appropriate Association External Learning Tool. This will only appear after a student has submitted a submission.
Copy only a SCORM package
If you just copy a SCORM package from one course to another course, the problem with the grade items does not occur.

- Click on the gear icon in the minibar.
- Click on Import/Export/Copy Components.

- Select Copy Components from another Org Unit.
- Click on Search for offering to select from which course the desired SCORM package comes. A new window will open.

- Find the right course.
- Select the course.
- Click on Add Selected.

- The selected course has now been added.
- Click Select Components.

- Select Content.
- Select Select individual items to copy.
- Click Continue.

- Select the desired SCORM package. Note: If the SCORM package is in a submodule, Brightspace also copies the main module. You can move the SCORM package to the correct (sub)module in the Content of your course after copying it.
- Click Continue.

- You see how many items you are going to copy.
- Optionally, tick Offset all dates of copy components if you know when the item should become available in the target course.
- Click on Finish.

- You will see an overview of the copied items. Note: This overview shows all items you have copied now and before in your course, not just the current copy.
- Click View Content to view the items. If necessary, move the SCORM package to the correct (sub) module.
Copy entire course with SCORM package: fix the problem
If you've copied an entire course, you can fix the grade item problem by removing the miscopied grade item in the target course.
- Navigate to Administration in the navigation bar of your course.
- Click Grades.

- Click Manage Grades.
- From the two grade items, remove the item without Association - External Learning Tool. Note: the grade item with Association is only visible if a student has submitted a submission for the SCORM package.
- Neither the copied grade item nor the automatically generated grade item are in a category. You will therefore have to place the new automatically generated grade item in the correct category with the correct weight. To do this, click on the arrow behind the grade item and then on Edit.

- Under Category, choose in the drop-down menu under which category the grade item should fall. Click on New Category if you want to create a new category.
- Enter the correct weight of the order under Weight.
- Click on Save and Close.
