In Brightspace you can insert files and use release conditions to ensure that only 1 group or certain groups can see this file.
To insert a file in Brightspace that every student can see, follow this manual: How do I add a file to Brightspace?
If you want to restrict access to a file to one or more specific groups, post the file according to the method below.
It then describes how to determine access to the file.
Insert a file for one or more groups
Create a New Lesson in the week in which you want to place the files.
- First click on the correct Unit.
- Click Create New

- Click on New Lesson. A folder is now created.

- Give the lesson a name, e.g. Group assignments week 1
- Click Save and Close
There is now a lesson/folder called Group assignments week 1 (Groepsopdrachten week 1)

- Click on the folder to open it.
- Click Create New
- Choose Page.
- Enter the name of the group
- Place the file according to this manual: How do I add a file to Brightspace?

How do you use release conditions for a file?
- Click on the Page that contains the document you want to restrict access to.
- Click on the 3 dots at the top right.

- Choose View Release Conditions

- Click Create

- Click Select Condition Type and
- Scroll to the correct condition.
- To assign to subgroups, use Classlist > Group enrollment.
- To assign to a class, use Classlist > Section enrollment.
In this example we continue with the Group enrollment.
- Click on the correct group under Select Group
- Click Create


- Add any other release conditions if necessary. See this article: How do you set Release Conditions?
- Finally, click Save.
The document is now only visible to students who are members of group a.

The icon below shows that access to the release conditions document has been added.
