This article contains important information and tips and tricks about Rubrics.
1. You cannot import/export Rubrics
Unfortunately, it is not possible to import or export Rubrics from and to Brightspace.
However, you can copy Rubrics from course to course.
If you still want to export a completed rubric, click on CTRL+P and save as a PDF.
1.1. Print or export to PDF
Teachers can now print or download a PDF of a sample or graded rubric. Students can also print or download a PDF of an assessment from Brightspace. The print button appears above the top right corner of the assessment.
2. Copy a Rubric into another course
Via Copy courses you can copy Rubrics from course to course. Check the boxes of the Rubrics you want to copy, or check the Rubrics box if you want to copy them all.
3. Where do students see the Rubric?
- If a Rubric is linked to an assignment or discussion topic and is set to visible, the students can see the Rubric before starting an assignment or participating in a discussion.
- Students can see their completed Rubric with feedback in the following places:
- Grades
- Assignments tool
- Discussions tool
4. Can I post a Rubric as a content item?
Yes, that is possible!
Via Insert Quicklink or via Add More Activities. In both cases, the student sees the Rubric in the same way. We strongly recommend using the Insert Quicklink way!
Why should I use Insert Quicklink?
Sometimes you want to use a Rubric without linking it to a Brightspace assignment or discussion (for example with an oral exam). If you want to share this Rubric with the students as a preparation and add a description or text as an explanation, you must place the Rubric as a Quicklink in an HTML file.
5. Adjust rubrics after review
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change a Rubric after a student's assessment has been posted. The following error message will then also appear on the screen. We therefore advise you to create and check the Rubric in good time so that there are as few spelling errors as possible. Comments/adaptations can be made to the assessments themselves.
