After students have completed a quiz, it is possible to view statistics on their performance. You can view the average score, but also see detailed information about specific quiz questions.
Navigate to Quiz statistics
- Navigate to Course Tools in the course navigation bar.
- Click on Quizzes. You will be taken to the quiz homepage.
- Click on Statistics (third tab). You will see an overview of all quizzes and the average score per quiz.
- Click on a quiz to see specific statistics.
You can also navigate to the statistics page via the quiz quick menu. To use this option, click on the arrow next to the name of the quiz you want to view and select Statistics.
User statistics
In the tab User Stats you see:
- A graphical representation of the score distribution, based on the students' scores (Grade Distribution).
- The average score of the class (Class Average).
- The score achieved by each individual student. You can also search for a specific student by selecting Show Search Options.

Question statistics
In Question Stats (second tab) you see:
- A graphical representation of the class average per quiz question (x-axis) and the percentage of questions for which the same score was achieved (y-axis).
- The average score, standard deviation, and discrimination index for each question.
Click on a question to see the exact question, the correct answer, and the feedback/hints.

For a detailed explanation of statistics such as standard deviation and discrimination index, click on What do the statistics on this page mean? This can be found above the table on the right-hand side.
Question details
Under Question Details (third tab) you can:
- View additional information for each individual, such as how many students (number and percentage) chose a particular answer to a multiple-choice question.
- Filter statistics by the date on which students took the quiz. Select one or more dates and click Apply.
From each tab, you can click Export to CSV or Export to Excel in the upper right corner of the screen to export the statistics to a CSV or Excel file.
